At the heart of
Fly Badlands
Chief Pilot and Owner Ana Komar
Originally from the East Coast, Ana has lived across the globe - from the mountains of Peru to the cities and jungles of Europe and South America. With a master’s in International Management and Psychology that she earned in Germany, Ana also served as a park ranger at Theodore Roosevelt National Park, where she first fell in love with the Badlands.
Her adventurous spirit led her to building out her own van that she lived in full time, and starting humanitarian work in disaster zones as an off-grid logistician. Eventually, a life-changing helicopter evacuation in Haiti sparked her journey to become a pilot. Today, with hundreds of flight hour experience across the Lower 48, Ana is proud to guide guests over one of America’s most awe-inspiring landscapes.
